IEEE Student Branch of Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering was inaugurated on 27th 0f August 2008
This professional membership provides practical and powerful strategies to maximize student career talents. IEEE membership will open the eyes and senses to see the career in a brand new light. Students cannot afford to miss this professional body. Every student requires new frontiers, new visions, new tools, and new problem solving skills. Change is the only unchangeable force in nature. Engineers, technologists and scientists have created incredible inventions using their scientific minds logical and differential cognitive powers. The new globalization paradigm requires adopting new tool sets ( communication skills and perceptions) to turn negative energy into positive breakthroughs. They include cognitive, emotional and behavioral upgrades and psychological makeover. Our ultimate goal is to empower Engineers. We would like to motivate our students to innovate and embed human values in their careers with empowered vision, confidence and global leadership in technology and scientific frontiers.
The student branch has been active by conducting various activities like organizing seminars, workshops for students. The department had conducted 11 seminars and two workshops during the year 2008 - 09. Our college students participated in various technical events organized in NIT Surathkal, NIE Mysore , PESIT Bangalore, UVCE Bangalore, New Horizon college of Engineering. Industry experts from CAIR, ACCORD SOFTWARE SYSTEMS, ISRO, DRDO, & IISc were invited for the invited talks.
More than 375,000 members including nearly 80,000 student members in more than 160 countries 324 sections in ten geographic regions worldwide 1,784 chapters that unite local members with similar technical interests 1,616 student branches and 452 student branch chapters at colleges and universities in 80 countries 38 societies and 7 technical councils representing the wide range of technical interests 390 affinity groups consisting of Consultants' Network, Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD), Women in Engineering (WIE) and Life Members (LM) groups nearly 1,300 standards and projects under development more than 1.7 million documents in the IEEE/IET Electronic Library publishes a total of 144 transactions, journals and magazines sponsors more than 850 conferences annually.
